The Department of Environmental Science at Aarhus University invites applications for a 2-year postdoctoral position in the socioeconomic dimensions of offshore wind farm development, starting 1 November 2026.
The successful candidate will join an international research project examining the cumulative impacts of offshore wind farm (OWF) expansion on marine systems. The project combines ecological and socioeconomic analyses, with the aim of bringing these together into an integrated ecological-economic framework. This position leads the socioeconomic component, focusing on the cumulative impacts of OWF expansion on marine sectors such as fisheries and aquaculture, analysing trade-offs, and developing scenario-based projections under future development trajectories.
Working in close collaboration with ecologists and modellers on the project team, the postdoctoral researcher will also contribute to the synthesis of socioeconomic and ecological findings, helping to realise the project’s goal of an integrated understanding of OWF impacts on marine systems.
The position is based at Aarhus University’s Risø Campus near Roskilde, approximately 35 km west of Copenhagen.
Deadline: 28 June 2026
