The Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung (SGN) is a member of the Leibniz Association and is headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. SGN conducts natural history research with almost 800 employees and research institutions in six federal states. Within SGN, the Senckenberg Biodiversity and Climate Research Centre (BiK-F) explores the interactions between biodiversity, climate, and society.
The Senckenberg Biodiversity and Climate Research Centre (BiK-F) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Position in Biodiversity-Society Conflicts of Wolves Returning to Germany.
We seek a post-doctoral researcher bridging social and natural sciences. The candidate will work on biodiversity-society conflicts related to the return of wolves to Germany. Experience in questionnaire and interview methods as well as stakeholder workshops are advantageous.
A background in one of the following areas is desirable: social science, wildlife ecology, environmental economics, environmental and sustainability studies, psychology, or a related field. In addition, we expect a strong quantitative skill set. Knowledge in contingent valuation methods, multi-criteria decision analyses and management strategy evaluations or related analyses area a plus. German language skills are important. The project is a collaborative effort among researchers from Senckenberg, the University of Stirling, LUPUS – German Institute for Wolf Monitoring and Research, ISOE – Institute for Social Ecological Research Frankfurt, and the University of Vienna. The candidate is expected to closely collaborate with colleagues from these institutions.

Salary and benefits are based on a public service position in Germany (TV-H E 13). The
