The postdoctoral position is part of a joint research project entitled Challenges and possibilities in a fragmented global climate and energy governance order financed by The Swedish Energy Agency (Energimyndigheten). In collaboration with The Vriije University Amsterdam, Lund University, and Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) in Oxford, the project is led at Stockholm University by Prof. Karin Bäckstrand.
Assessment criteria
The degree should have been completed no more than three years before the deadline for applications. An older degree may be acceptable under special circumstances, which may involve sick leave, parental leave, clinical attachment, elected positions in trade unions, or similar.
We seek candidates with a PhD in Political Science or (related discipline), and competence within the areas of global climate politics, energy governance, environmental politics, and international relations broadly defined. We are particularly interested in candidates capable of working in a mixed-method project as the project will employ wide range methods from social network analysis, structured comparisons and semi-structured interviews. Candidates with a background in quantitative or experimental methods are desirable, though non-essential. Additional merits include capacity to work in a cross-national team of researchers and to communicate research findings to a wider public audience beyond the academic sphere.
