Open Call to Contribute to an ESEE Statement
Alternatives to Market-Based Solutions
The European Commission is considering plans to introduce nature credit systems (see here) based on their perceived success of carbon trading. We believe that the ESEE community has extensive knowledge on why alternatives to market-based solutions should be considered. Therefore, the ESEE Board launched an initiative to work on a statement drawing attention to the potential pitfalls of such systems and recommend looking into alternatives.
We are launching a process to gather our members’ knowledge, opinion, and input into this topic. We would like to invite all ESEE members who have been members of our society for at least two years to contribute by filling in this questionnaire before the 15th of January:
