SCHOOL OF GEOGRAPHY AND THE ENVIRONMENT
The Environmental Change Institute (ECI) and the School of Geography of the Environment (SoGE) are seeking to appoint a Departmental Research Lecturer.
The primary purpose of the post is to conduct research, in collaboration with the ECI’s research programmes, on the economic drivers of and responses to environmental change. Applicants could approach this challenge from a variety of different economic perspectives. You will be expected to have a strong research background in economics, a publication record commensurate with career stage and to be able to carry out advanced research in the ECI. The postholder will also be expected to assist in teaching on the MSc programme in Environmental Change and Management, with some contributions to other teaching in SoGE.
To undertake this role, you must hold a doctorate in economics or a closely related field, with a focus on environmental change which might include climate, energy, biodiversity, water or food systems. Evidence of high-quality research and publication in these fields is essential. You must also demonstrates the ability to be an effective teacher of undergraduate and graduate students of high ability, to lecture at an appropriate level in an interesting and engaging manner, and to carry out student assessment, examination and course design.
This post is a full-time, 5-year appointment with no formal college association, though informal relationships may be established on an ad-hominem basis.
Grade 8: £38,896 – £46,414 p.a.
